Chevrolet El Camino & Chevy Trucks

Our fascination with the Chevy El Camino started in 1959 when it was first released by GM. The first generation El Caminos were short lived as the model was discontinued after a rushed development and slow sales. But four years later, it would get a second chance and in 1964 it was revived. The Chevrolet El Camino has followed the styling of its sibling, the Chevelle, for most of its life. When restyling was done to the Chevelle, the El Camino would normally get similar (or in some cases identical) changes as well. When the Chevelle was discontinued, it borrowed fashion tips from the Malibu and Monte Carlo. The El Camino was phased out in 1987 as Chevrolet’s true pickup trucks began to gain some traction in the market. Enjoy some of our featured articles on the El Camino and other trucks and get great photos of these amazing American classics.
