With the 50th anniversary of the Chevrolet Camaro just a few short months away, America’s most popular muscle car shows no signs of slowing down, literally or figuratively. The latest Camaro SS comes in with over 450 smile-inducing horsepower, which is plenty to keep an enthusiast glued to the back of their seat. With the DNA of the 1967 Camaro breaking through in the 2016 model, the Camaro continues its dominance in the late-model muscle car war.
Whether your Camaro is vintage, middle-aged, or brand new, or if it carries a Pro Touring, Pro Street, Street Machine, or Restomod vibe—right on cue—the Chevy High Performance Camaro Product Showcase contains products designed to help get your Camaro to the next level of performance while ensuring it stays looking good in the process.
Fifth-Gen Camaro Polyurethane Components
Reduce unwanted chassis movement and improve your Camaro’s true handling potential with Energy Suspension polyurethane bushings and mounts. Soft, factory rubber bushings are too compliant under load, which results in reduced wheel traction and less responsive handling. Solid mounts are too stiff for daily driving and increase noise, vibration, and harshness. Energy’s race proven, Hyper-Flex polyurethane components include front & rear control arm bushings, front & rear sway bar bushings with endlinks, rear subframe mounts, and rear differential carrier mounts. Designed and formulated to provide a more stable platform, improve vehicle handling, and deliver more power to the ground on the road and at the track. Available in red or black polyurethane. Visit www.energysuspension.com or contact Energy Suspension toll free at 888-292-1250 for more information.
New Port Engineering
New Port Engineering’s Clean Wipe Wiper Drive is now available for 1967-’78 Camaros. Update your original wiper motor with a new heavy-duty, two-speed, self-parking motor that is smaller and more powerful than the original or a rebuilt motor. High-performance engines require coolant to transfer as much heat as possible. As cylinder head temperatures increase so does the likelihood of detonation and power loss unless ignition timing is retarded. Under extreme conditions this can also result in overheating and engine damage.
Hy-Per Lube Super Coolant reduces the surface tension of coolant, allowing it to more deeply penetrate metal surfaces at critical heat transfer areas inside the engine and radiator. This results in more heat being transferred away from cylinder heads and a reduction in engine operating temperatures.
Importantly, cooler cylinder head temperatures allow the engine ECU to safely advance ignition timing, which results in more horsepower. Street applications running a 50/50 mix run 6-8 degrees F cooler and racing applications running straight water coolant run up to 20 degrees F cooler. Actual cylinder head temperatures can be reduced by up to 50 degrees F.
Hy-Per Lube Super Coolant provides complete protection from rust, corrosion, and electrolysis. This is particularly important in straight water applications where there is no corrosion protection being provided by the corrosion inhibitors in antifreeze. Hy-Per Lube Super Coolant is formulated specifically to protect aluminum systems and is compatible with all types of antifreeze.

The demands of modern traffic have made apparent the chassis shortcomings of our beloved 1967-’69 Camaros, 1968-’74 Novas, and 1964-’72 Chevelles. As proven since 2006, Fatman’s forged steel G-TECH spindle features a 2-inch drop for a lower center of gravity and a 1 1/2-inch raised upper ball joint to obtain the improved camber curve necessary properly plant modern radial tires, accomplishing a 20 percent improvement in skidpad numbers. The steering arm position has been optimized to eliminate bumpsteer, unlike many of the imitators on the market. Any disc brake system that fits the stock spindle will fit the G-TECH spindle so improved braking is easily obtained. Unlike some clones of this innovative design, the G-TECH dropped spindle will align properly with either stock stamped control arms or Fatman’s tubular arms. A couple hours of work will transform the handling of your muscle car.
Baer Brakes has expanded its EradiSpeed line of premium performance rotors. The EradiSpeed product range feature slotted, cross-drilled, and zinc-coated directionally vaned units that are purpose cast with quality iron materials for performance far beyond the factory units they replace. Furthermore, EradiSpeed’s curved vane design provides great airflow and heat dissipation. For the 2016 Camaro, Baer’s offerings will be of the EradiSpeed+ flavor. The EradiSpeed+ is a direct replacement, two-piece rotor that feature machined aluminum center hats that are bolted to the rotor rings. The EradiSpeed+ offer dynamic visual impact behind today’s modern wheels, as well as a significant weight savings. EradiSpeed+ are available front and rear, for the factory four- and six-piston brake packages.

Just about any performance improvement made to your 1967-’81 Camaro makes chassis stiffening a necessary upgrade. More horsepower, torque, and even wider tires increase the amount of stress the chassis has to deal with so a little aftermarket help goes a long way toward protecting your chassis from damaging fatigue and improving overall performance. Chassisworks’ solution is their multi-component g-Connector system that includes mandrel-bent 2x2-inch box-tube subframe connectors, weld-on OEM subframe adapters, tubular center support, and adjustable driveshaft safety loop.
After simple weld-on installation of the OEM subframe adapters, the g-Connector system is a 100-percent bolt-on product and includes all the necessary Grade 8 hardware. Frame connectors and center supports are vehicle specific to fit closely along the undercarriage without having to notch or cut into the floor structure. The center support structure leaves adequate room for dual 3-inch exhaust, but will require custom exhaust routing. See the Chassisworks store for pricing and additional applications.

Chassisworks’ builder wheeltubs provide a professional solution for beginner and experienced custom vehicle builders. Designed for street or race car use, assembled tubs measure 21- or 25-inches wide with a 34- or 40-inch diameter, respectively, and are made from 18-gauge cold-rolled steel for improved durability and surface finish. End caps feature a 1-inch-radius corner with offset lip for easy assembly and flush outer surface alignment. Outer skins are pre-rolled at the correct diameter for significantly easier assembly, with only light pressure needed when tack welding. To allow fitment on cars with lower floor heights, additional material length is provided in each tub skin so that it can be rotated to leave a total of 6 1/2 inches of overhang at one end or split between both ends. Tub cap extensions, with matching 1-inch corner radius, are available separately if needed. Builder tubs can be ordered through the Chassisworks website or by phone.

Chassisworks’ line of direct-fit front coilover suspensions is an excellent choice for improving the performance and stance of 1967-’81 Camaros (and popular 1950’s-’80’s GM passenger cars) without the high cost of replacing the entire front clip. To keep installation simple and maximize compatibility, control arms utilize the factory chassis mounts and bolt directly to stock or aftermarket drop spindles. Systems include tubular upper and lower control arms and VariShock billet-aluminum coilovers with COM-bearing-style lower mount and exclusive pivot-stem top mount. Shock options include single-, double-, or four-way-adjustable valving with remote reservoir, and your choice of performance specific springs rates. Additional components such as sway bars, tie rods, and drop spindles are offered at time of purchase for added package savings. With factory engines being increasingly efficient and emissions testing limiting some of the bolt-on products, 50-state-legal supercharger kits have become very popular as big horsepower adders. The OEM’s agree as they are also switching to forced induction. A 200hp increase on pump 93 octane is easy with only a 2.8 Kenne Bell Twin Screw Supercharger Kit. A big step up from a little 2.3 front inlet. More hp than all the bolt-ons combined. Their proven “rear inlet” design features a huge 4.5-inch Mammoth inlet system and a real cool-air kit with the filter mounted under the front valance in cool, dense air. 1,400hp-rated Ultra Hi-Density intercooler and big, dual-pass heat exchanger. Larger 3.2, 3.6, and 4.2 kits are available for higher hp/boost applications (up to 1,800 hp) in polished or black. Patented Liquid Cooling optional. All kits are Kenne Bell factory tuned so re-tuning is unnecessary.

Classic Performance Products (2 of 2)
Classic Performance Products’ (CPP) C5 spindle utilizes a C5 bearing hub assembly. By utilizing this type of sealed bearing pack flex on the factory spindle pin, which causes caliper piston pushback is eliminated. This condition is especially problematic on aftermarket multi-piston radial-mount-style calipers. These spindles also utilize C5 brakes or aftermarket alternatives (a direct fit for Baer, Brembo, and Wilwood C5 applications). The early AFX-body tall spindle helps with improved geometry by giving a better camber change during suspension movement and also maintains the drum brake offset. Early Camaro kits use original or CPP replacement steering arms. The second-generation Camaro spindle is the first of its kind, and exclusive to CPP. Complete brake kits include spindles, slotted and drilled rotors, loaded calipers, sealed bearing packs, and mounting hardware. These kits use a 13-inch rotor, and require a minimum 17-inch wheel. These kits are available for 1967-’81 Camaros, and with black or red calipers. Kits start at $649. All CPP parts have a lifetime warranty.
