Grand Prairie, Texas, resident Andre Hanekamp just got his 1966 Malibu back in running condition after the it sat in his garage for several years. He’s owned the Malibu more than twenty years and it has used a variety of powerplants in its life as Andre sought quicker and quicker quarter mile times. The latest additions to the car are the .030-over 454 big-block and Turbo 400 transmission that were dropped into the car after Andre built a new firewall and rebuilt the transmission. He has yet to race the new blown big-block combination, but it shouldn’t have trouble beating the high 11s it had been running with a small-block.
