Sixty years ago, the immortal '55 was introduced. Five years hence it was the '60's turn. Click off five more and the '65 led the way. Finally, 45 years ago, the '70 Chevys led the way. Chevrolet's history then turned out to be enormous; today it's extremely fun to reflect on.

Total passenger car sales includes all models offered (less Corvette):
1955: 1,776,002
1960: 1,664,929
1965: 2,385,944
1970: 2,044,807.

In the near future we will break down annual sales totals per model so you can get an idea how customer wants ever-so-changed over the years. Those were great times—just like today.

2/4

1. Nearly half of 1955 Chevy sales were model 210, at 831,971. Bel Airs (convertible shown) were close behind at 800,968. The 150 sales (less Sedan Delivery) were 132,374.

2. This '70 Chevelle represents the typical Chevy street machine—subtle looks, 15-inch wheels, and a ton of power.

4/4

3. The '70 Chevelle sport coupe is one of my personal Top Five Chevy favorites. This SS 454 show car is absolutely unbelievable.
