'70 El Camino
In less than a year, Jim Snell transformed a well-worn El Camino into the flawless, bright cruiser shown here. Part of Jim's scheduling secret was calling on longtime musclecar friend Frank Saenz, who offered lots of expertise and labor to meet the 12-month goal. The relatively stock-appearing A-body is powered by a Jim Grubbs-prepped 402 Rat motor with a 4-inch stoker kit, pumping up the mill to 427 ci. Shifting is assigned to a Mike's Transmission TH400, which spins a set of 3.42:1 gears in a 12-bolt. Paint of choice is Cortez Silver, and inside, the non-SS El Camino features the factory round gauge panel and the factory tachometer. The wheels are vintage American 15x7 and 15x8.5 T70s and the rubber, BFG radials.
Bill and Luke Hindman
Bill and Luke Hindman's favorite musclecar has always been the '70 Chevelle SS. Sure, the clean-flowing lines, muscular stance, and big-block power attract most gearheads, but to the Hindmans, the '70 Chevelle is the car that Bill's late wife, Luke's mother, Suzie Q, always admired. Her passing moved father and son to spend more quality time together, and what better way than to build an awesome Chevelle just the way Suzie Q would have wanted? The 'Velle now boasts a ZZ502 crate engine that sends exhaust notes through Hooker headers and a Flowmaster exhaust system. The wheels are Cragar 30-spokes with BFG rubber.

John Valentine's Camaro convertible is powered with a 5.7 350 TPI engine that pumps out 275 hp in stock trim. For added performance, he installed a K&N air filter and a 3-inch after-cat stainless steel Corsa exhaust system, and a Jet Performance low-temp 160-degree-F fan kit keeps the engine running cooler. The tires are P245/50ZR16 at the front and P255/50ZR16 at the rear. Hotchkis strut braces were added to reinforce the front suspension system, and an RK Sport rear tonneau cover conceals the fold-down convertible top.
