There was a ton of hot Chevy drag race action on Friday at the test-and-tune session, so the third event of the Original Super Chevy Show season was already off to a strong start at Martin Michigan’s US131 Motorsports Park! There was concern about the weather, but the storm system slowed down a bit, so Saturday was good-to-go for all the bracket racing and car show action. Throughout the day hundreds of cars were slugging it out for a chunk of the prize money up for grabs. Now any car could compete, so long as it was GM powered. Yep, even a Mustang could run, provided it was Chevy powered. Besides, that’s the easiest way to make one actually fast!
For spectators there was all of the racing action along with a huge car show where shined up Chevys were trying to take home a trophy, or even better, one of the super-cool Super Chevy Show jackets being awarded. In addition there was a swap meet where gearheads could hunt for those hard-to-find items and a large vendor midway. Another bonus for the spectators was the jet car and wheel stander demonstrations that took place later in the afternoon. It made for a great day of Chevy-powered excitement for both the participants and spectators.
So what is the Super Chevy Show? Well, if you’re a Chevy fan it’s an event you don’t want to miss! The next Super Chevy show will take place July 7th-8th at Cordova International Raceway in Cordova, IL, and as always it will have a car show, drag racing, exhibition cars, and a swap meet. After that the show moves back into the area to National Trail Raceway in Hebron, Ohio.
