As we wrap up the 2016 Super Chevy weekend here in Memphis TN we’re racing and showing under partly cloudy skies with the warmest temperatures of the last three days. The great weather means attendance is great with Saturday’s spectator numbers being the best in the last five years. The car show was just about sold out and had a great selection of Chevys. There was an especially large showing of trucks, and of course, Camaros everywhere. The thousands of spectators also enjoyed checking out the vendor midway and huge swap meet. And we would like to give a big thanks to the Memphis Classic Chevys car club for coming out and winning the club participation award!
On the racing side there was very little drama with only one lengthy delay when the Top Secret jet car had a small fire which resulted in some track clean up. The racing here was particularly strong with over 300 racers battling it out for the prize money in the various classes including True Street, Fifth-gen Camaro, and the various brackets. And even though Sunday isn’t as packed as Saturday many showed up to watch the Pro-Mods battle and enjoy the wheel stand and jet car exhibition runs. Our next stop will be the Palm Beach Florida Super Chevy Show that happens April 22nd through the 24th, so if you’re in the area be sure to swing by with your Chevy and get in on the action.
