Talk about power hungry: Ed Bedore’s ’65 Nova has a blown, twin turbo’d big-block in it (with juice). The car was one of the most famous Pro Streeters ever and was in storage for years. Ed decided it was time to wax it up and bring it out.

We know we don’t do trucks in Super Chevy, but sometimes there is one that just deserves it. This slick ’68 C10 belongs to Steve Richey and has a full air suspension that swallows up the 20x12 rear wheels. Power comes from a mild crate motor, but this truck is way more about style than power.

You just don’t see a lot of brown, but when you do sometimes it’s just awesome. Such is the case with this ’69 Chevelle owned by Mike Price. We will have a feature on this car very soon and with items like an LS1, Tremec six-speed, full leather interior and the perfect stance you can see why.

One of the cars we nabbed for a feature was this super clean ’76 Nova belonging to Chris Scott. Chris built it while putting himself through college, and it was nice to see a hatchback Nova done this nicely.

Stephen Hemphill from Dallas uses his ’69 Z/28 as a daily driver. The car is powered by a 502 backed by a four-speed and rolls on 17-inch Americans. Stephen says he gets all kinds of thumbs up when he parks it in a sea of BMWs and Mercedes at his job.

Mark Halbram came all the way from Milwaukee with his USA Hero ’57. The car was built as a tribute to previous owner, Staff Sergeant Todd Ryan Cornell, who was killed in Iraq in 2004. It features a 468 Rat, four-speed manual, and a Roadster Shop chassis. Mark came to show support for the American Veterans Traveling Tribute Wall, and his awesome ’57 was the perfect addition to the display.

The Duracell booth had this gorgeous ’57 built by Greg Green. This car used to run in the low 8s, but after Greg put on a new paint job in 2001 he decided to detune it and drive it on the street. Even in the toned-down trim the car is running a 468, 700-R4, and 4.11s. Jeff says it may not look like it but he gets 15-17 mpg out of it on the highway.

This sweet baby blue four-door ’55 Bel Air has been in the family since it was new. Lee Williams, at the age of 55, bought it new for $1,666 (the original bill of sale was in the trunk) from a dealer in Kilgore, Texas. Lee and his wife Mattie owned the car, but Lee was the only one to drive it. Mattie never learned to drive, but was happy to just go along for the ride. It is now in the hands of their grandson, Bill, who took 10 years restomodding the car in his grandparents honor. He installed a leather interior, 350, and an overdrive trans. Bill says he loves driving it around and showing off in his hometown of Pleasanton.

Izzy Dunn customized his ’79 Camaro with all kinds of factory parts. The motor and trans were lifted from an ’02 Camaro, the seats from a new GTO, the mirrors from an ’06 Vette and—get this—the covers sitting over the valve covers were made from rear bumper pieces off an ’07 Saturn Vue.

There were some real cool matching-numbers cars at the show, like this ’69 Z/28 that belongs to Fred Beagles. He bought the car last year and it had the right motor, trans, and rear, but the accessories were not date-code correct. Fred spent the year tracking down all the correct accessories. This was a Norwood-built car that ended up in California (see the black plate?) and is now living in Texas.

The clean fourth-gen belongs to Jeff Kmosko, who has been coming to the event since ’83. He recently added a new cam and that pushed the car to a 12-flat. The far lane has James Stacy in his fifth-gen, who was able to best Jeff with an 11.92.

Shawn Farris from Red Oak, Texas, came ready to run in his ’70 Nova. This car is so clean we thought it should have been in the show area. The car has a 565 big-block and turned in a best time of 10.05 at 132 mph. Not too shabby for a car that was clean enough to win a show trophy.
