Chris Latham’s 2002 anniversary convertible was a magnificent long-distance cruiser. This is the second year in a row he’s done the cruise to Vegas from Original Parts Group.

Ten years in the making, this ’69 Camaro of Chris Flatmoe has a custom-built 540-inch big-block with a Crane cam, Eagle crank, Wiseco pistons, and a Barry Grant 850-cfm carburetor. A Gold Class entry, it has one-off, custom-cut Forgeline 20x8.5 and 20x12-inch rims.

Ron Bartolomei’s two-door panel truck used to be a station wagon. It’s got a 454 punched out to 496 with a Blower Shop blower, Edelbrock 310 aluminum heads, Crane cam, and springs and a whole lot more.

Bill May’s ’72 Camaro has a 454 punched out to a 468 with 10:1 compression on pump gas and dual 600 Edelbrock carbs. Bill looked for four years on eBay to find this gem. The rollers are 22x9.5 Coys out back and 20x7.5 up front. Keeping these hoops from hitting is a Heidts Pro-G four-link chassis that goes all the way to the rear.

Gene Elling won the Best Truck category with his five-window ’53. Underneath the hood lurks a 427ci LS7 and a Tremec T56. Wilwood disc brakes bring a halt to this all-steel and original-sheetmetal beauty.

Duane Newman and his son Jeremy “Frog” Newman built this clean two-tone ’55. It has a chromed 350 with 330 hp, original ’55 suspension, and get this, 30,000 miles on the build.
