If you are a fan of beautiful Chevys and watching folks drive the snot out of them, then the last event of the 2010 Super Chevy Show series was the place to be. The final show was this past October at Firebird Raceway in Chandler, Arizona, and the show and shine area had some really top-notch builds to drool over.
But the event had more to offer than just killer show cars. If you are a fan of wheels-up drag racing action, then the season finale didn't disappoint as a lot of the cars showed their undercarriage at the starting line. If you're a road-race guy then you could have spent time watching all the low-slung rides navigating the cones on the autocross course, which was run by the experts from the Bob Bondurant School of High Performance Driving. If you are anything like us, you would have spent some time at each area sniffing burnt rubber and race fuel.
The show field had a full selection of Chevys from stock resto beauties to over-the-top customs. With over 70 winners awarded in just the show and shine category, let us tell you there were some nice rides on hand.
To really get your gearhead blood pumping and shake your foundation, there were Nostalgia Funny Cars blasting the quarter. They even ran after sunset for some wicked cool nighttime action. Camaro Performers, one of our sister publications, even held a sub-event at the show called Dual in the Desert, where they looked to find the best all-around Camaro.
Now that the '10 season is concluded, get your butt in the garage and start working on your project. Hopefully you can show off all your work at one of the dozen '11 Super Chevy Shows. See you there!
