The Super Chevy shows that take place in or near the Atlanta area have long been the most popular in the American South.They feature legions of spectators, a car corral that rivals the car show itself, and a swap meet that junkyard dogs can roam for hours.
True Streets was anything but a one-man show, with five of the seven competitors within a second of each other. Four late-model hot rods turned the contest into a nail biter as Phil Bonner in his 2000 Corvette took home gold with a 13.23-second average; just a hair quicker than Mitchell Moon's 13.15-second average.
No nine-second True Street passes today, but this one sure goes into the record books as the closest margin of victory in the history of the class. Way to go guys!
