Usually by the time we get to Memphis with the Super Chevy Show, we've already had a couple of shows under our belt. This year we had our opener in the pretty city by the "Big River" and it was a hit. Record crowds, a first-time Nitro Coupe win for John Reynolds, new show cars (and plenty of them), drag racers letting it all hang out after a winter off, and the biggest Manufacturers' Midway we've seen in these parts. If you're looking for "big" though, the car corral and swap meet in Memphis is one of the biggest we see all year. New series sponsor AutoZone is headquartered in Memphis, as are our pals from Comp Cams, so it was like "old home week" for them. When you look over our coverage of the Memphis show you'll see more photos and less statistics on our pages. We have a feeling that most Chevy fans will like it, and if you want to know the winners' names just jump on website www.superchevy-web.com for all the information, as well as lots more pictures of the show and race action. While you're on the website we think you will like our expanded coverage of the shows. Drop us a line and let us know how we're doing as the work we've put into that is the result of comments and suggestions from readers, racers, and show-goers over the last couple of seasons. Our next stop is Phoenix, Arizona, in a couple of weeks where we get to sample some of that desert sun and fresh air. We then get to Pomona a week later and the only bad thing is now we have to wait a whole year to get back to Memphis. Here's our Top Ten Drag Cars, which in Memphis could easily compete in the show (and some do). We even came across a dead ringer for "Project X" which was ironic as we had planned on having that car at Memphis to debut for the season. We didn't make it but Donald White did, and we thank him. All the winners statistics are now on our website, along with more great photos of their cars. See what the latest hairstyle is for jet car drivers. What's old, new, and interesting at the swap meet, car corral, and Manufacturer's Midway. Enjoyed this Post?
