Twelve events, 300 cars, two great sponsors, and a horde of Bow Tie enthusiasts. In the inaugural year of our new AMSOIL Best of the Best readers' choice program, presented by Danchuk Manufacturing, we didn't have it easy trying to pick five cars for each of our categories from the rows of great Chevys at each of the Super Chevy Shows this year.

By the end of the season, we had 60 event winners ready to face off for the grand prize of a $500 AMSOIL gift certificate, a custom-made jacket from Super Chevy, along with a certificate of recognition from AMSOIL and Super Chevy magazine.

"We couldn't be more thrilled to have AMSOIL involved with the Chevy Nation to this degree. Thank you to everyone at Super Chevy magazine for putting together such a great event and showcasing such a popular American brand. It's obvious to all that the car collector scene isn't going away anytime soon," said Ed Newman, Director of Advertising, AMSOIL Inc.

Nova

David Kissner
The fifth owner of this all-original L79 SS, David bought his Nova back in 1984 from a fellow Corvette enthusiast living down the street. It was well-worn with 163,000 miles on the clock and still wearing the original paint.

Chevelle/Malibu

Doug Yoder
The biggest Super Chevy Show of the year, Maple Grove, always attracts some of the best Bow Ties in the Northeast. Doug Yoder's 396-powered convertible is one of the nicest restored '66s we've seen.

Tri-Five

Craig Smith
Craig rescued his 150 utility sedan from being turned into a nostalgia drag car, instead building it up into a Pro Touring shoebox with an new-school LS6 and Art Morrison chassis, and spraying it PPG Sun Burst Orange metallic.

Fullsize

Tommy Nolen
Tommy's '61 SS started out life with a 348, but he couldn't resist it when it was offered for sale as a 409 clone. It was built using nothing but factory-original and correct parts. Setting the car apart further is its rich Midnight Blue color.

Camaro

Mike Yale
Mike Yale's Camaro isn't built just for show but for go as well. We've seen this '70 thrown around the autocross course with reckless abandon. With LS power and modern suspension, it's the poster child for Pro Touring Camaros.
