The Super Chevy Show scheduled for Ennis, Texas, just got even more appealing to owners of 2010-up Camaros. The track has announced that Speedtek Performance has partnered with Texas Motorplex for the Fifth-Gen Camaro Shootout and that the winner will receive prize money and a trophy at the event, which is scheduled for June 3-5. The Speedtek Performance Fifth-Gen Camaro Shootout will be held both Saturday and Sunday.
Speedtek Performance owner Keith Sullivan is also going to hand over some cold, hard cash to the participant with the quickest pass in the category.
"There are more than 140,000 new Camaros on the road now and the Speedtek Performance Fifth-Gen Camaro Shootout is the perfect way to admire the car's beauty and performance," Motorplex GM Gabrielle Stevenson said. "We're thrilled Speedtek Performance has stepped up and given the racers even more incentive to come out and show off the new Camaro."
Super Chevy Magazine will covering the event from start to finish (both on the web at superchevy.com and in the pages of the October issue), including the cruise on Saturday morning to the Motorplex. In addition to the cruise and Fifth-Gen shootout, the show will host an autocross, True Street Challenge, and two days of large-purse bracket racing.
Editors will also be on hand to pick entrants for the AMSOIL Best of the Best competition, presented by Danchuk. They will scour the show field to pick the five top cars in the following categories--Tri-Five, Camaro, Nova, Chevelle, and Full-Size, 1958-up. Starting on Monday after the show, visitors to bestofthebest.superchevy.com can vote for their favorite car in each class. The winners will receive a certificate and valuable prizes for AMSOIL and be entered in the end of the year voting, which will pit all the winners against each other.
