Recently, editors at the giant mega corp. magazine company we all work for received an e-mail. In that e-mail, Spectre invited all the editors from various magazines to bring their American musclecars out to the track. For that matter, any American musclecar was invited to run the road course, whether they were owned by an editor or a local resident. The only problem was they had a pre-1975 cutoff. Damn, there goes my hope and dreams of running my '88 IROC-Z.
Race day arrives and I drag my family out to the California Speedway in Fontana, California, expecting to see Camaros galore. Imagine my surprise and disappointment when I saw only three Camaros in the entire joint! The only editor I saw was Liz Miles, running around in her Camaro. Liz, formerly of Camaro Performers magazine, now writes for Popular Hot Rodding Magazine. I'm calling shame on all the other editors who have their hot rides and are too pansy to bring them out to the track and test their metal. I was told at the track that I can enter my '88 IROC in the race next year. And you can bet I'll be there. In the meantime, enjoy the photos of the few GM-made vehicle that were at the track.
