When most people think of Michigan, the first thing that comes to mind is Detroit. Many assume the entire state is one giant industrial complex, but the reality is much of it is still rural and beautiful.
When the Super Chevy Show series returned to U.S. 131 Motorsports Park in Martin, Mich., after a nine year absence, we decided to do something special in conjunction with Lingenfelter Performance. We set up a cruise from the magnificent Lingenfelter Collection of automotive classics to the track.
It was 129 miles of bliss following an hour ogling the 150-car Lingengelter Collection, which is not normally open to the public. Everything from Corvettes (over 40 of them) to muscle cars (Camaros, Chevelles, Yenkos, etc. and exotics were on display.
Our route took us west through Michigan's beautiful agricultural areas, through rolling hills and quaint old towns. When asked after I our route was too long, we were given a unanimous "NO!" by our participants.
We're gonna let the photos do the talking from here on out.
