The 7th annual Sturgis Camaro Rally was bigger than ever this year with hundreds of Camaros showing up to the Black Hills of South Dakota. Quite a feat considering the first event drew just 10 cars! Normally when you say Sturgis you think Harleys, but the beautiful area, combined with tons of attractions, makes it a great place for any petrol-fueled gathering. After all, what’s better than burnouts in a town called Deadwood, where the Wild West was at its wildest?
According to event organizer Alexiss Miller, “I would rate this year as our best yet. Everything ran pretty smooth. We had a new registration system through ProQueue that helped us check people in and helped with our judging for the show in shine.” In addition to the car show there was also action on the drag strip and there was even an autocross course set up which saw its largest turnout yet. Other events happed away from the venue such as a scavenger hunt and a Slot tournament.
The four day event was a huge success with cars showing up from 26 different states. We imagine that with all the burn outs, drag launches, hard turns, and beautiful Camaros that next year’s attendance will be even better.
