Every year the fine folks at Detroit Speed Inc. open up their spacious manufacturing and fabrication facility to host an open house in appreciation of their customers and hot rodders in Mooresville, North Carolina. With the event growing in popularity every year, the 2016 event held on Friday, October 21st, was easily the largest they’ve ever put on. There were over one thousand people and hundreds of cars in attendance, which ranged from top-quality muscle cars to the coolest local hot rods as well – all in the spirit of getting performance-minded folks together to check out some great cars and to have a look behind the scenes of the Detroit Speed headquarters.
The show officially started at 5:00 PM, but that didn’t deter quite a few people from arriving by 3:00 PM with the intent of getting a prime parking spot. Within just a couple hours the DSE lots were full of early and late-model muscle cars of just about every variety. Muscle cars, Street, Street Rods and everything in between lined the side of the road as far as the eye could see.
But the Open House wasn’t all about DSE; for a $5.00 donation, attendees were treated to a BBQ dinner provided by Shane’s Rib Shack with 100-percent of the proceeds going to the Todd Gartshore and John Menzler Memorial Funds, which benefits the Victory Junction Gang.
