Well, it’s all wrapped up. The big 20th Annual Cruisin’ the Coast has officially closed for another year, and we are already counting the days until we can return. This event attracts approximately 10,000 hot rods to the Mississippi Gulf Coast and incorporates no less than nine different coastal towns in what is a weeklong block party with live music, friendly towns, great seafood, casinos and, once again this year, stunning weather. There were over 8,000 registered cars at the event but there are easily several thousand other cars that simply come to town to hang out from Ocean Springs, to Biloxi, to Pass Christian, to Bay St. Louis—it’s one big party.
Every car imaginable shows up for Cruisin’ the Coast and while we have no official number I would estimate at least 1,000 Corvettes are in town with every year from 1953 to 2016 represented. We saw big gatherings of Corvette clubs cruising together and other Corvettes simply mingled among the other cars. Honestly, we can think of no better place for a group of Corvette lovers to go than Cruisin’ the Coast 2017, and yes, we’ll be there again to capture all the action.
