For the fist time ever at the NSRA Street Rod Nationals, autocross was on the agenda for those who find whipping their rides around a parking lot littered with orange cones much more exciting than parking your rear on a canvass-backed chair for the weekend.
ARP is excited to bring you all of the NSRA Nationals coverage including photo galleries, videos, and event coverage here!
Sponsored by Vintage Air and Classic Instruments, the professional crew from the American Street Car Series was brought in to put together a challenging and fast course designed to test the driver and car’s ability. All it takes to get out on the course is to sign a waiver and get behind the wheel of your ride. And if sitting in the stands and watching isn’t enough, spectators are invited to get in the passenger seat of just about any car for an exciting ride with some of the quickest Pro Touring autocross drivers in the country.
Although the fast cars are exciting to watch, it’s equally as fun to see first-time drivers navigate the course and attempt to get quicker lap times throughout the day, which often times leads to a frenzy of flying orange cones.
there are just two classes: pre-’49 and post ’48, with an award given to the driver with quickest lap in each class who will be recognized in the Circle of Winners with the award given away at that time.
Here is a quick peek at some of the coolest Chevy’s and wild “vehicles” we spotted at the NSRA autocross so far.
