The Grand National Roadster Show in Pomona, California, is primarily, and historically, an indoor event where the top car builders in the country showcase their high-quality rides throughout multiple buildings on the Fairplex show grounds. The cars invited to this amazing car show are cream of the crop when it comes to show-car royalty – there are no “stinkers” being displayed indoors at this event.
One misconception is that due to the name of the show, one might figure that this is a roadster-only event. Not the case. Yes, there are quite a few roadsters competing for the AMBR (America’s Most Beautiful Roadster), but the Grand National Roadster Show also consists of classic muscle cars, trucks, hot rods, drag cars, and everything in between.
For those who have rides that fall under more of the “daily driver” persuasion, there was the opportunity to show their cars outdoors. After taking in a large dose of high-end cars indoors, it was nice to soak in some Chevy’s that fit within the budget of the majority of the show visitors.
The perimeter of each building was surrounded by vintage cars of all makes and models, so, along with a few of the amazing builds being displayed indoors, we took our cameras outside to focus on the Chevelles, Camaros, Nova’s and, Tri-fives throughout the outdoor portion of the Grand National Roadster Show.
