For most muscle car enthusiasts who happen to be towing their show-winning ride to SEMA for display, it’s a time to park their works of art in a luxurious booth space of a particular aftermarket company designed to entice show goers to purchase their performance-worthy products attached to said ride. Once the car is properly angled for maximum exposure, the car owners then have the opportunity to spend the next five days relaxing and/or casually strolling the show to take in all the performance-oriented, go-fast goodness being displayed by the thousands of vendors on hand.
That’s fine for some, but for the approximately 100 or so competitors who have been invited or earned a spot to participate in Optima’s Ultimate Street Car Invitational, held the weekend following SEMA at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway, relaxing is just not part of the drill. These car owners are focused on making sure they and their rides are ready for action, as every one of them want nothing more than to have their car crowned Optima’s Ultimate Street Car. Sure, some of the OUSCI cars are immaculate show-quality street machines, but when it comes time to compete, the owners of these rides will be hanging it all out at the LVMS on the autocross, road course, and the 3S Challenge. And to ensure everyone brings their “A” game, precious points are up for grabs in the design aspect of the event to show it's not only about brawn, but these cars have to look just as good as they run.
So, to give these guys and gals props for showing that their vintage and late-model rides mean business and look as good as they run, we’ve put together this image gallery featuring coolest Chevrolet cars from SEMA that will be competing in the Optima Ultimate Street Car Invitational.
