We are here at Memphis International Raceway where the biggest Super Chevy show of the year is winding up to be a great weekend for Bowtie enthusiasts. Gates are open and race cars, show cars, and swap meet participants alike are piling into the track. Better yet, we just got word that the Pro Mod class has been expanded into a full 16-car field. That’s 16, 2500-plus-horsepower, 200-mph racecars. This will not be a show to miss!
For Bow-tie shoppers out there, the quarter-mile swap meet is in full swing and even bigger than we expected it to be. Keep in mind today is only Friday, so we expect even more sellers to pour in tomorrow and Sunday. If there is a restoration part, performance accessory, or project vehicle that you have been searching for, the odds are strong that it’s waiting to be found in the aisles of the Memphis Super Chevy Show swap meet. In addition to the pro class, there will be tons of bracket-racing action, a 5th-Gen Camaro Challenge, and corresponding cash up for grabs to all the skillful winners. Not a bracket-racing fan? There’s still a ton to see with jet cars, wheel-standers; street-legal True Street, cars, and tons of beautiful show cars sparkling in the perfect weather.
If you’re cruising the grounds of Memphis International raceway today, there will be a show and shine in the car show area, and tonight from 3:00 pm to 8:00 pm will be a test and tune. As the sun sets, the cool night air should yield some fast and exciting runs under the lights.
Tomorrow spectators can expect to see world-class show cars roll through the gate for the ISCA judged car show along with close racing and exhibition passes.
Make sure you are on the premises tomorrow when the gates open so you don’t miss a beat. And, with the massive Pro Mod field, don’t forget your earplugs!
