2014 Super Chevy Show Palm Beach: Firing up the Event Season!

The biggest Palm Beach Super Chevy in years got the season started off right

The 2014 Super Chevy Show kick-off couldn't have been better. Sponsored by Chevrolet Performance and held at the Palm Beach International Raceway (PBIR), this year's show saw more Bow Tie enthusiasts of every stripe than in year's past—more racers, more show cars, a far bigger swap meet, and lots more spectators. With PBIR celebrating its 50th anniversary this year, this historic venue was once again the ideal location for the start of the season.

One swap meet was probably five times bigger than 2013's, with everything from engines, starter project cars, odds and ends, to classic drag racing memorabilia. On the drag strip there was everything from jet powered Funny Cars to the future of the sport, the junior dragsters. Chevy owners competed in multiple classes including Camaro Guy's 5th Gen Challenge, Original Quick 16, and Quick 16 Door Car. The icing on the cake however was the Super Chevy Triathlon, where you earned points in three categories: autocross, a speed-stop challenge, and drag racing.

1955 Pro Street Class 2/37

The show area gave fans plenty to take in. Everything from street rods and classic 1955 Chevys, to late-model modified pick-up trucks were on display. The National El Camino Owners Association once again had its regional meet here, and nearly three-dozen fifth-gen Camaros were entered.
