2013 Super Chevy Show - Maple Grove Greatness

This year’s gathering at the Grove was the best in years, with massive amounts of fullsize cars and Tri-Fives.

As one of the oldest shows on the Super Chevy circuit, Maple Grove has a storied past of a diverse and plentiful show car field, along with a pit full of fast, and often feature-worthy racecars.

This year's show wasn't a disappointment, with the strongest variety of Bow Ties we've seen at the Grove in years. Picking competitors for the AMSOIL Best of the Best competition was no picnic, with a fullsize class packing more worthy entries than ever before, not to mention dozens of stunning Tri-Fives. There were more Camaros than you could shake a stick at, and enough Chevelles, El Caminos, and Monte Carlos to give any A-Body fanatic a seizure.

With 700-plus entries on the drag side, the quarter-mile was a constant buzz of activity, and the Maple Grove crew kept the surface prepped for top speeds despite brutal track temps all weekend. There were no less than 125 DOT cars, including many that could have won show awards—8-second rides included. From Pro Mods to Super Stockers to bracket cars, there was an equally diverse group of racers vying for the top prize in the quarter mile.

We can only imagine what next year will have in store for us.
