Weird, uncooperative weather has been the norm throughout the first half of 2004 SCS season and, on the Saturday at Norwalk, it seemed as if Mother Nature left her rain clouds in the garage.
Beautiful blue skies and even unseasonably cool weather made for a perfect day--and Chevy fans from far and wide came to take advantage of the postcard-perfect Ohio afternoon.
The show field was filled with rare and wonderful Bow-Ties, from a pair of super rare El Moroccos and a '57 factory fuelie Nomad to Las Vegan Steve Sandlin's menagerie of customs and musclecars--one of them being a custom '57 convertible with four turbos.
On the track, the Nitro Coupes were all solidly in the mid-6s, while Jessie Harris again successfully defended her unbeaten streak in Jet Car competition, including make a blistering 5-second pass.
Mother Nature decided to get involved on Sunday, however, by rolling in the clouds and rain. Racing eliminations were canceled, unfortunately, but Tremec Car Show went on under the big tent. Wayne Bishop's '34 Chevy took the Meguiar's Medallion award, while Eric Williams's Nova took the Workmat Award of Excellence.
